Ok, let’s face it Jason Momoa is an alpha-male. Whether he is in Game of Thrones or Aquaman, his massive physique dominates on screen. His Aquaman workout and prep was insane. The work he put in sculpted his body perfectly.

Now you are thinking, damn I wish I had a body like that, well you can through hard work and determination… and by following our Aquaman workout!

Aquaman Workout

To get the absolute dominating physique he achieved to be King of Atlantis, Momoa worked with celebrity personal trainer, Mark Twight.

Twight is a renowned trainer who is known for training ALL 35 of the men in 300. He also trained Henry Cavill to become Superman and most recently he worked with Gal Gadot as she got ready to become Wonder Woman.

Momoa performed the Aquaman workout 3 – 4 times a week with rest days in between. Those rest days comprised of cardio and as always healthy eating.

HOW TO GET FIT – AQUAMAN WORKOUTAquaman workout – Pull Ups

Jason began his workout with pull ups. These get the blood pumping. To look like a beast, you must train like one.  Jason used an 88lb weight belt obviously you should start off with less/no weights and progress from there.

What to do: 

  • 7 sets of 7 reps (with 7 seconds rest between sets)
  • 30 second rest
  • 6 sets of 6 reps (with 6 seconds rest between sets)
  • 30 second rest
  • 5 sets of 5 reps (with 6 seconds rest between sets)

HOW TO GET FIT – AQUAMAN WORKOUTAquaman workout – Bear Crawl with Dumbbells

Let’s face it, bear crawls are shit. No one likes them and if you do, we all know you are lying. But, that is what you got to do.

What to do: 

  • 30-meter bear crawl with 15kg dumbbell in each hand

HOW TO GET FIT – AQUAMAN WORKOUTAquaman workout – Front Lever

Beginners beware. There is absolutely no way you will be able to accomplish this. Build up your strength first before jumping in.

What to do:

  • Front lever for as long as possible for 7 sets. Grab a bar (a smith machine bar works well).
  • Extending your arms, lift your legs to form an L shape.

What to do: 

  • 7 sets of 7 reps (with 7 seconds rest between sets)
  • 30 second rest
  • 6 sets of 6 reps (with 6 seconds rest between sets)
  • 30 second rest
  • 5 sets of 5 reps (with 6 seconds rest between sets)

Aquaman workout – Barbell Squat

As with most great workout routines, they never skip leg day. Twight made sure that he built a well-balanced physique, so he made Jason perform tons of reps with heavy weights.

What to do: 

  • 7 sets of 7 reps (with 7 seconds rest between sets)
  • 30 second rest
  • 6 sets of 6 reps (with 6 seconds rest between sets)
  • 30 second rest
  • 5 sets of 5 reps (with 6 seconds rest between sets)

And that’s it, now you can go home and lie on the floor and not move for a few hours. Or if you are like Momoa, you can add in some cardio.
