Cardio Training
You hear the words cardio training or cardio workouts frequently when talking about weight loss.
But do we really understand what this is and how it can benefit us?
Why do you want to perform such activity?
Well, cardio training basically exercises your heart. Your heart is really in charge of your body. Without the function of your heart, you cannot exist!
The benefits of performing cardio exercises are enormous:
- improves the efficiency of the heart: Everyday tasks seem easier
- reduces stress
- reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease
- helps to reduce cholesterol levels
- helps to reduce body fat
- having more energy
- better health
- decreases resting heart rate
- makes us feel great and many more....
Everyone seems to have a special formula for the best way to lose weight and
burn fat.
With all the great recommendations out there for us, why do we as North Americans continue to have growing waistlines? In general, scientists say to accumulate 60 minutes of physical activity daily to either stay healthy or improve your health. Well, if you are someone that does not do any activity, 60 minutes sure does sound impossible.
So let's make this possible!
Forget the 60 minutes of cardio training for now and concentrate on 10. I want you to go get a pen and paper right now before you read any further. Really now, go and get one. Now I want you to write down how you will get 10 minutes of activity tomorrow. Will you:
- walk to work
- ride your bike to work
- take the stairs
- walk the dog
- play with your kids; you will become their new hero
- go for a walk at lunch
- take an exercise class
- park farther away from the entrance
There are dozens of ways that you can do 10 minutes of activity. Pick one, write it down and tell yourself you are going to do this and feel great!
You have just taken the first step to becoming more active. You have made the decision and written it down. Now, go and tell your family and friends. You are well on your way to becoming more active.
